Pros of Retail

Recently my posts have mostly been just large rants about things I dislike. Believe it or not, I consider myself to be quite the positive person. I would be lying if I said I haven’t weighted out the pros and cons of selling clothing. I definitely think that the pros out weigh the cons. Here are some reasons why you may want to work in retail and why I do:

1.     You get to meet, and talk to, new people every day!

2.     It is extremely rewarding to make someone feel confident by assisting them pick out a new outfit.

3.     People usually bring cute kids and dogs into the store.

4.     The employee discount. I work in retail because I love clothing. This really helps employees keep up with the stores trends and shoppers like to see what an article of clothing would look like on a real person, rather than a mannequin.

5.     I love my coworkers.

6.     I truly enjoy showing up to work.

I may pick out the negative things when I talk about work, but I feel like people tend to do that. I think this is especially true because I think that the crazy, bizarre things that happen in my store are quite funny. Being able to spin negatives into positives by talking, or laughing, about them keeps me wanting to go back to work. Loving where I work also helps with this too.
